Building on over a decade of cutting-edge research at Cambridge University and more recently at Camvertec, we’ve integrated advanced AI technologies to develop CamFly—an innovative, reliable, and cost-effective flywheel energy storage solution. CamFly leverages AI-driven optimization for enhanced performance and scalability, making it ideal for modern energy applications. Key features of CamFly’s design include AI-optimized operation bearings, pumps, and an affordable Motor/Generator (MGen) Drive, paired with a compact, AI-enhanced power converter for intelligent energy management.
AI-Enhanced SiC Converters for Offshore Wind Applications

The goal of this project was to validate and demonstrate the advantages and cost-effectiveness of SiC converter technology, leveraging AI-driven design and optimization processes. By developing, constructing, and testing a 50 kW prototype converter, we’ve laid the foundation for large-scale converters used in offshore wind and HVDC applications. AI-powered algorithms optimize performance, ensuring scalability, reliability, and enhanced efficiency in real-world energy environments.
AI-Optimized GaN Traction Inverters for Electric Vehicles

Camvertec introduces GaNDrive, an innovative traction inverter technology that utilizes Gallium Nitride (GaN) and integrates AI-enhanced design features. GaNDrive boasts a revolutionary AI-optimized gate drive design and a highly efficient, lightweight inverter.
